The Congregation of the Daughters of St. Anne, Ranchi, is an active apostolic Religious Institute of Pontifical right, with a special attention to the spirituality of St. Ignatius. It is one entity comprising Provinces and Regions, under a structured and unified Government. The members pronounce public vows of chastity, poverty and obedience and live a community life according to the Common and Proper Law.
We dedicate ourselves to the apostolate by working for the bodily and spiritual welfare of all, especially women and children.
Our way of life is completely simple and plain, so simple that we can easily live with any and every one. We share in the people’s joys and sorrows, good and bad fortunes, pains and trials, to bring them to Christ.
The Congregation puts an emphatic stress not just on personal life of holiness but also of community life, wherein united in hearts and minds one experiences mutual love, joy and peace.
We have some distinguished characteristic features of our own – we are mainly Adivasis, (Tribals) we are poor, obedient, dutiful, sociable, honest, and ready for manual labour and we cooperate closely with the parish clergy.
