INTRODUCTION
Education makes people more human than human. The Congregation of the Daughters of St. Anne, Ranchi is committed to providing basic education to the rural masses, especially the vulnerable (poor) section of population. The organization realizes that education is most essential tool for human development but poverty pulls them further away from education. Women literacy rate is also very worse so the organization has started awareness-building programme through non-formal education centers to motivate people about education. A special emphasis is being given to girl-child education and their enrollment is quite satisfactory.

Our option for the poor, the needy, the victimized and the neglected is a realization of our especial call social, economic and cultural growth.

We mostly work in remotest areas. We run the schools in the remotest and interior places. Children come from poor backgrounds. Our first priority is helping communities that are economically, socially, culturally victimized.

We constitute an education committee. It has its aims and objectives. Our educational committee has not restricted only to formal education but also embraces the other types of non-formal education according to the needs of the time.

We run Nursery schools, Primary schools, Middle schools, High schools, Higher Secondary schools and Inter Colleges. We acknowledge the importance of education.

Education is the knowledge of putting one’s potential to maximum use. This importance of education is for two reasons. The first is that the training of a human mind is not complete without education. Education makes a person a right thinker. It tells a person how to think and take decision.

The second reason for the importance of education is that only through the attainment of education, one is enabled to receive information from the external world, which is clearly proved by many intellectuals. Without education, man is as though in a closed room and with education a person finds himself / herself in a room with all its windows open to the outside world.

The greatest achievement was the moulding of characters that one learns to live in the society with dignity, pride, good manners and love of hard work. The students are prepared to face the challenges of life boldly. In the book of Proverbs, we read, ‘Train a child in the way he or she must go and when the child is old he or she will not depart from it.’

Striving for academic excellence was a remarkable characteristic of St. Anne’s Educational Institutions. We did not strive to be the top-most but we strived to be the best and every St. Anne’s teacher dedicates her whole knowledge and energy to prepare her pupils for success in the examination. Failures were also accepted as signs for better and committed efforts to reach the goal.

Along with academic excellence value based education is essential in the building up of family, society, and nation. Co-curricular activities were occasions for personal as well as community growth. Competitive programme at school, state and national levels prepared the students to face challenges in life with respect and dignity. Social and human relationships were built up through awareness of the needs of the society and the world at large.

ACTIVITIES OF THE EDUCATION ::.
One of the most important activities is education. In our Congregation, we have 4 Inter College, 6 10+2, 54 High schools, 34 Middle schools, 25 K.G. schools. In our schools, the following are the activities:-

THE QUALITY EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN-
Our focus is to give the qualitative education to the children. Education is fundamental to all round development of human potential material and spiritual. Education develops manpower for different levels of economy and empowers the poor masses to become self reliant enough to participate in the process of national development. Education is thus an instrument for developing an economically prosperous society.

We give the especial attention on imparting ‘value based and qualitative’ education. We focus to the poor tribal children. Mainly we work for the poor.

RENEWAL COURSE FOR THE TEACHERS-
Everywhere the system is changing very soon. The new is coming up day by day. According to that we need to update the teachers too. So very regular we arrange the renewal course for the teachers. Some times the resource person is called in the centres and some times teachers go the different places.

EDUCATIONAL TOURS FOR TEACHERS AND STUDENTS-
For the wholesome growth of the students the education tour is must. Theory and practical both is needed. Whatever they learn, they should know it practically. In the high school basis, we try to take the students for the exposure every year.

GAME FOR PHYSICAL FITNESS ( FOOTBALL, HOCKEY, BOLLEYBALL, BASKETBALL, BADMINTON, KHO – KHO, KARATA)-
Various types of the games are being conducted. In the schools, there are many options. Those students who are interested in the games are reached in the national level and they are awarded.

The special classes are being given those who are interested in the games. The groups are prepared and played in the group, block level, state level and national level.

SPORTS-
Every year the sports are conducted. The students take class wise the different items. All the students try to participate in this sport. 1st, 2nd, 3rd prize are given to the winners.

Those who stood 1st, 2nd, 3rd in the class they are also given the prize.

ENGLISH SPOKEN-
To compete with the world, we conduct the English classes for the students. In the school, one section of English medium is upgrading. It is resulting very good result.

COMPUTER CLASS-
In the school, we conduct the computer class. It gives the wider technical knowledge the students. The world is the first world. This knowledge opens their eye to go ahead.

ACTIVITIES OF THE CAMPAIGN ::.

CLEAN-
In the school, there are many campaigns among them cleaning the campus and surrounded areas are practiced very well. They keep the compound nit and clean. The keen interests are seen in the students.

ECOLOGY-
To keep the atmosphere pure the plantations are taking place every year. The plants we bring from the nursery and during the rainy season, we plant it.

CUTTING-
For the posture and for the other designing the cutting is also being done.

EXTRA CLASS for the weak student-
For the weak student we give the especial care and for them we give the extra class. Slow they learn and they come in the parallel of others.

PAINTING, DRAWING CLASS-
Painting / Art is the interesting activity. It is taught in the school. Apart from the school also is being taught. Students are prepared for the competition. Moreover, they are taken in the different places to appear in the competition.

MUSIC AND DANCE CLASS-
For the children these are the very important thing. Children are taught both music and dance. In the future, the children will become the professional.

DEBATES-
Students are prepared for the debates and they participate in the competition in the Block level and District level.
