Public announcement of first hearing session of the witnesses in the diocesan inquiry on July 23, 2018


July 23, 2018, Sunday, gives a new impetus to the process for the cause of Beatification of the Servant of God Mother Mary Bernadette Kispotta. There was the solemn Eucharistic celebration in St. Mary’s Cathedral, Ranchi,for the success of first hearing session of the witnesses on the life and virtues of Servant of God Mother Mary Bernadette Kispotta in Diocesan phase. In the beginning of the Eucharistic Celebration His Excellency Bishop Theodore Mascarenhas, SFX, Episcopal Delegate, made a public announcement of first hearing session of the witnesses in the diocesan inquiry on the life, virtues and sanctity of Servant of God Mary Bernadette Prasad Kispotta. The Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by His Eminence Telesphore P. Cardinal Toppo, DD, Archbishop of Ranchi and con-celebrated by His excellencies Bishop Telesphore Bilung, Auxiliary Bishop of Ranchi, Bishop Theodore Mascarenhas, SFX, Episcopal Delegate, Bishop Charles Soreng, SJ, emeritus Bishop of Hazaribag, Rev. Fr. Marianus Kujur, SJ, Provincial of Ranchi Jesuit, and Rev. Fr. Theodore Toppo, the Chancellor and Parish priest of St. Mary’s Cathedral, Ranchi. It was an amazing moment to see the crowd of religious Fathers, Brothers, Sisters of different religious Communities and the faithful who with their prayerful presence amidst the angelic choir led by the Tertians and Novices of the Congregation of Daughters of St. Anne, Ranchi, witnessed and blessed the day. The spark of homily blazed many more hearts delivered by His Excellency Bishop Theodore Mascarenhas, SFX, Auxiliary Bishop Ranchi Archdiocese, the Episcopal Delegate. He said that; history is our witness. Mary Bernadette Prasad Kispottawas a woman, who went about doing the works of God and taking the joy of the Gospel village to village, hamlet to hamlet with no food and no water. But it has become a challenge for us today. We should not be afraid, God is with us. The Lord is our protector; He will take care of us. God will never leave us alone; He is our goodShepherd. In those conflicting situation too we need to have forgiveness, selfless service and love for all humanity without any discrimination, patience and become good example for others. At the end Rev. Sr. Linda Mary Vaughan, DSA, Superior General expressed the words of gratitude to all the participants for their cooperation and prayers.

Thereby, after the breakfast oath taking ceremony was held in the chapel of St. Annes Mother House, Ranchi. Rev. Fr. Ajit Xess, SJ, as Notary, Rev. Fr. Raimon Tobias Toppo, assistance Notary and Rev. Fr. Linus Pingal Ekka, as Translator, took their oath in the presence of His Eminence Telesphore P. Cardinal Toppo, DD, Archbishop of Ranchi archdiocese and his Excellency Bishop Theodore Mascarenhas, SFX, Episcopal Delegate. At this moment Rev. Sr. Linda Mary Vaughan, DSA, Superior General, the actor for the cause of Beatification, Rev. Sr. Lily Grace Tonpo, DSA, Postulator, and the Sisters from Generalate community and Mother House were too present for the ceremony to encourage and support them. At the end we thanked the Lord for his infinite love bestowed upon the Church and the Congregation through His Servant Mother Mary Bernadette Prasad Kispotta,DSA, the Founder of the Congregation of the Daughters of St. Anne, Ranchi.
