Inauguration of the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) Course


We the members of Nursing School are very grateful to the Almighty God for His marvelous deeds He has done for us especially, for the institute ofSt. Anne’s Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery (ANM) course is being run since 10 years. The institute received permissionfrom Jharkhand Nurses Registration Council (JNRC)to start General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course. The GNM Course started in the month of October 2018 with 35 students. It was inaugurated on 19 January 2019. Itwas a great memorable day for St. Anne’s School of Nursing Ulhatu. Guests and well wishers, Priests, religious, the members of Catholic Sabha, MahilaSangh, Youth committee made the day memorable by their benign presence. The chief guest and guest of honour were His Grace Felix Toppo, SJ, Archbishop of Ranchi and Very Rev. Mother Linda Mary Vaughan, DSA, Superior General respectively.The especial guests blessed the occasion by their kind presence were His Eminence Telesphore P. Cardinal Toppo DD, Emeritus Archbishop of Ranchi, Rev. Sr. Sosan Bara, DSA, Provincial Superior of Ranchi Province, Rev. Sr. EmeldaSoreng, DSA, Provincial Superior of Gumla Province, Rev. Sr. FlorenciaMinj, DSA, Provincial Superior of Madhya Pradesh Province, Mrs. Thiama Thomas, Registrar of Jharkhand Nurses Registration Council (JNRC), Mr. Samson Arohan, Administrator of St. Barnabas Hospital Ranchi, Dr. Kenneth,  Medical Superintendent  of St. Barnabas Hospital Ranchi, Dr. Samir Kujur, Medical Official of Namkum Block.The students of the School of Nursing welcomed the chief guest His Grace Felix Toppo,SJ and Most Rev Sr. Linda Mary Vaughan, DSA from the entrance gate with tribal tradition. Thereafter, the Inauguration Programme commenced with a short prayer led by the faculty members and students of the Nursing School, Ulhatu at 11.00 am. The GNM course was inaugurated by Very Rev. Sr. Linda Mary Vaughan, DSA,Superior General by cutting ribbon and blessed by His Grace Felix Toppo,SJ, Archbishop of Ranchi Archdiocese. Cultural programme was conducted by the students ofANM&GNM. Sr. Valentina Kujur, DSA the Senior Tuitor was the master of ceremony of theprogramme. They staged magnificent programme such as prayer dance, Assamese, Nepali andNagpuri dance. The chief guest, guest of honour and special guests were honoured by Adivasi shawls, badge and bouquet. Thus, programme of the day ended with lunch.
